For OCADU's inaugural Map the System year, we tried to untangle the complex web of health and social services that comprise community care. Our resulting report and presentation, Fragmented Care, explores how economic efficiency-oriented government funding models have reframed the relationships between public service delivery from collaboration to competition, to the detriment of the end user.

We are five women studying part-time in OCAD University’s Strategic Foresight and Innovation Master of Design program. We live across Canada in Toronto, Barrie, Calgary and Vancouver. We each have experience working with and in the public sector.

This project challenged us to think differently about our work and how we formulate a sense of community in both professional and personal contexts. Our perspective and insights were deeply impacted by our own experiences as public servants, caregivers, and health care clients.
